The Victorian Gut Centre is a full-service Gastrointestinal diagnostic centre, located north of Melbourne, in Bundoora. We provide high-quality, effective and affordable Gastrointestinal Endoscopy by certified specialists.

We are pleased to offer direct access Gastroscopy and Colonoscopy services. Most people can be booked directly for their procedure without a prior consultation. Please contact our reception staff if you have any enquiries regarding our open access Endoscopy and Gastroscopy services.

Gastroscopy

Gastroscopy

Under light anaesthetic sedation, gastroscopy examines the inside of your food passage (oesophagus), stomach and duodenum (first part of the small intestine), using a thin, flexible fibre optic scope. Gastroscopy is used to diagnose swallowing problems, heart burn, gastritis, stomach ulcers, and Coeliac disease amongst other things.

Colonoscopy

Under light anaesthetic sedation, colonoscopy involves assessment of the rectum, colon (large bowel) and terminal ileum (end of the small bowel), using a thin, flexible fibre optic scope. The examination allows your specialist to diagnose polyps, inflammatory bowel disease, haemorrhoids and bowel cancer.
